The Si Podemos Gift Card will be like a money card. You never throw it away. When you receive it, it will be worth $5. It will be coded for the Si Podemos project. It is meant to be reloaded with money over and over. The reloading is how funds are earned for Si Podemos. You will use it to pay for food and gas.

The Kroger Plus card works along with the Si Podemos Gift Card. This card keeps track of your discount points for great food and gas savings. Scan this card prior to each transaction at Kroger. If you don’t have a Kroger Plus Card you can get one within 5 minutes at Customer Service and begin using it immediately.

The first time you use your new gift card, take the card to the Customer Service Desk and reload it for any amount up to $500. It is important that you do this before you shop because there is a 10 minute delay between when the card is reloaded and when it actually shows up on your card. You can pay for the reloading with cash, check or a major credit card. (Your own credit card still earns it's points or miles too!)

Go do your shopping and then check out using your gift card to pay. To make it easier your next shopping trip, reload your gift card at that same register doing a separate transaction. Again, you can reload for any amount up to $500.00.

Making it your routine to reload after you check out will be the most convenient way to use your gift card. Remember to reload it in a separate transaction, at the same register, after you check out.

Use your gift card to pay for your gas at a Kroger Fuel Center for maximum benefit to you and the project. For every $100 you spend in groceries in a calendar month using your Kroger Plus Card (hopefully paid for with your gift card!) you can save 10 cents per gallon on a single fuel purchase.

Every time the combined amount of reloads from all participants reaches $5000, Kroger will write a check to Si Podemos for 4% or $200!! As you well know, you will always be using both gasoline and food. When you shop at Kroger you can make sure Si Podemos receives a 4% donation from Kroger simply for you purchasing what you already need. You will be helping to break the bonds of poverty simply by making the effort to reload your gift card. It is so easy to be supportive without any out-of-pocket expense from you.
